Novel accurate modeling of dust loaded wire-duct precipitators using FDM-FMG method on one fine computational domains

Worldwide, electrostatic precipitators (ESP) have been extensively utilized to separate fine particles for diverse large-scale industrial applications. In this regard, paper presents a novel approach modeling the dust-loaded ESP on computational domain where need fast solver arises. Unlike previously published numerical techniques, finite difference method (FDM) integrated with full multi-grid (FMG), labeled FDM-FMG, is developed resolve Poisson and continuity equations one domain. For clean ESP, proposed FMG checked versus successive over-relaxation (SOR) domains greatly transcendent in terms of convergence characteristics hence performance (CPU time). first time, two major issues are highlighted solved: concerning issue chosen ion mobility as an important factor simulation results second choosing optimal grid dust loaded that grantees both low truncation roundoff errors, well-matched experimental measurements nominated previous publishing. The idea working various sizes tracking ones gives FDM-FMG advantage predicting precise picture electrical situations over other techniques. After all, impact changing spacing between different wires height ionized distributions current, ion, particle charge densities ground deeply simulated presented ESP. can be promising tool designers manufacturers precipitators, thanks its superior performance.
